Striving’s Overrated: Finances

This week I want to discuss the temptation to strive in every area of our lives.

God’s added over 150 new partners in more than 40 different countries to the BlueDoor.tv family in the past 2 months. It’s incredible! What’s interesting to me is that as interest has increased, donations to run the non-profit’s expanding programs have not. I’ve regularly posted opportunities for people to donate to our cause of sharing the Gospel online in many languages with little response. As our need grew (and my energy faded) last month, I sensed God telling me to take a break. So while I drastically cut back my hours, God led people to give and provided precisely the amount of money we needed this month without one single phone call, email, or tweet asking for help.

Striving can lead to strife. What will you let go of today so that God may provide?

This is the same lesson that I know God has been working with me on. I am letting go of my addiction to getting things done for him and refocusing on simply being with Him. That closeness will allow me to be in the right heart position so that God can work in me what I wills while working through me what needs to be done.

    Thanks for another great post.
